At Hondenschool Kim, you'll learn how to train your dog with a positive approach. Have fun with your dog while building a strong and trusting bond, allowing you and your surroundings to enjoy your dog without worry. Potentially unwanted behaviors will be redirected by clearly establishing boundaries for your dog. With the right guidance, this can have a swift effect. This ‘bounding’ of your dog is an important element in the training.

All dogs are welcome, from puppy to senior. During the course, practical tips will be given that can be directly applied at home. Questions are always answered, and tips and experiences are always shared.

Group courses are held at the dog school's location: Watervalweg 170 in Ermelo. The dog school is a fully fenced and lit 4000m2 grass field with parking available in a lit, paved parking lot.
We also provide private lessons at the dog training school, at another desired location, or at your home (provided the distance is not more than 8 km from the dog training school).

Puppy School

The foundation for a well-behaved dog lies mainly in puppyhood. It is essential to attend good puppy training. During the puppy course, the owner is given tools to raise their dog in a positive way with mutual respect.

Basic Course 1 

When your dog is 5 months or older and you haven't taken a course with them yet, we recommend starting with this course. You will not only teach your dog basic skills but also how to set rules and boundaries. This course is suitable for all dogs 5 months or older. We also recommend starting with this course for dogs from abroad.

Basic Course 2

This course can be taken after the puppy course or after the basic 1 course. We will perfect obedience and attention to the owner. More work will be done off-leash, and we will work towards a closer bond between dog and owner through obstacle courses, games, and obedience exercises.

Advanced Course G&G-B and G&G-1

Once the Level 2 course is successfully completed, you can advance to this course. We will now work with more distractions and challenge the dog to constantly keep a close eye on its owner. The obedience exercises will become more challenging, and food rewards will be drastically reduced. The owner's attention itself will become the greatest reward for the dog!

Social Dog Course

After the Advanced course, there is the option to continue with the Social Companion Dog course. Everything in this course is aimed at ensuring the dog behaves in a friendly and socially adept manner towards both other dogs and people, and can remain calm in unexpected situations. We train the dog to behave calmly, happily, and politely in our busy society.

Fun course

The Fun course is for owners and dogs who enjoy staying active with their dog and want to try something new. During the course, which is taught using the clicker method, you will learn how to teach your dog to close doors, wipe their paws, or ring a bell, for example. We will also delve into more challenging obedience exercises, such as giving commands at a distance and retrieving.

Clicker training

Clicker training is a very animal-friendly and effective training method that can be used with all animal species. Clicker training originally comes from dolphin training and is often used in zoos with various animals. Assistance dogs are usually trained with the clicker method.
